Stuffed Mushrooms

I made this yummy little appetizer on Sunday.  It was super easy and only took about 15 minutes total to prep and cook.  I don't have exact measurements as I made them to taste, but I can give you approximate measurements.

1 box button mushrooms
1 8 ounce package of plain cream cheese
1/3 cup of bacon bits (the soft ones, not crunchy)
1/4 cup of green onion/chives
garlic powder to taste

Clean and destem all of your button mushrooms.  Take packet of cream cheese and mix until smooth. Take cleaned stems and chop them into tiny little pieces (you don't have to add these, I just thought it was a waste to throw them away).  Chop up green onions into tiny pieces.  Add the mushroom pieces, green onion, bacon bits and garlic powder to the cream cheese.  Spoon mixture into the mushrooms heads.  Broil for about 6-10 minutes or enough time to heat it all the way through (or until it looks done).

Mushrooms will be watery.  Dab them on paper towel and then serve.

I can't live without my Pampered Chef chopper.

Mushrooms before I placed them in the oven.

Voila!  All done and ready to eat in less than 20 minutes.

I'll get right on that. Then I'll bring the leftover to you ;P

I know they look gross, but if you like all the ingredients in them, they really are delicious. It's kind of like split pea soup...you have to get over the looks to try it.
