Todd was looking at kinetic sculptures
on the Internet the other day.
He decided that he liked them
and told me, " I'm going to make one"...
so he did!
He made an entire sculpture from scratch, not a kit.
He cut each piece in his workshop and spent
about two weeks assembling the sculpture.
Here he has the cut out pieces that he is assembling
to a board so that he can see if the sculpture
actually moves.
More pieces to the puzzle.
The assembled sculpture.
A different vantage point.
Believe me when I say that
the sculpture is really cool.
I can't believe I'm married to somebody
who is so utterly talented.
I guess someone has to be,
and it sure isn't me.
Watch this to see the sculpture move.

Very cool - nice job Todd!!!
Amazing!! Is it perpetual motion? How did you figure it out, Todd? You do have your talents, Todd, and Brenda, your talents could be somewhat like mine--hidden ones :-) AA
Thanks Amy. I'll let Todd know you thought it was cool.
Anne, according to Todd it's not perpetual motion. Apparently it is a constant force (torsion spring). Todd tried to explain it to me, and I gave up trying to understand. If more people are interested, I'll just have him do a blog post on it.
BTW, he bought the plans off the internet. That's how he knew how to assemble it. His next project, I believe, he is going to try and figure out on his own.
