Todd and I had plans to hang around the house this weekend and catch up on chores. The house was looking a little neglected as we were busy for the past two weekends. I jumped in the shower around 8 AM, and Todd came back to let me know that we were going to have to take Thor to the vet, as he was bleeding all over from his forehead area. One problem, the local vet isn't open on the weekend. This meant that Todd and I would have to make a trip to Folsom to have Thor checked out.
Turns out that Thor had a foxtail in his ear, and he was scratching his head trying to get it. The scratch then became infected, and boy did it look gross. I was going to post a picture of the ouchy, but I think it is probably a little too much. The weird thing about his ear and head, is this happened over a two day period. He was fine on Thursday, we went to work on Friday and got home late so we didn't get to see him, and then on Saturday he was infected and bleeding all over.
He is the little troubled child of the family, so I don't know what I expected. Everything is a okay with him now, and he is on the fast track to recovery. I'm just glad he is feeling better!
Poor little Thor :(
Here he is catching a few zzzzz's. He spent the night in our bed.

Tweedle Dee Duo
My mom made dinner for Todd and I tonight, and while she was preparing the meal, I decided to take the opportunity to take a couple pictures. Here are a couple of my favorites.
The little guys are hillarious. They constantly make me laugh. They are also pretty smart. Riley wants to become a marine biologist and can rattle off random facts about all different types of animals. Jarod isn't sure what he wants to do when he is older, but I can tell you that I think that he will become a veterinarian. He absolutely loves animals, and is sharp as a tack.
I sure am gonna miss the little guys when they go back home!

Sugar Pine is Pretty Fine
For Father's Day several of us decided to go Sugar Pine reservoir, located above Foresthill. Todd, Lexx and I headed out around 6:30 AM so that we could scout out a spot. We found a nice little cove that worked perfectly for what we needed.
The lake/reservoir.
Mr. T bringing down a box of supplies (one of about 20 trips).
The cove/picnic area we scouted.
The dads all relaxed, ate, played and visited. Todd barbequed some monster hamburgers, as well as hot dogs and chickens. Anne and my mom made potato salad, beans and several delicious cookies...THANKS, you guys rock.
My dad shooting the breeze.
The brothers: Dennis, Lynn and Eldon.
Robb whittling(?).
Bret eating.
Robb's, friend, girlfriend...not sure...but she's really nice and her name is Amber.
My mom and Anne sharing some piece of juicy gossip I'm sure.
Amy keeping an eye on the kids and puppy.
An eagles nest, maybe...not quite sure.
The three musketeers: Adam, Jarrod and Riley.
Several people enjoying the beautiful day and the refreshing water.
You couldn't have asked for better weather, or company. I thought it was a pretty spectacular day, and hope that all the wonderful dads did too.

Birthday Mania
The birthday girls, Kierra and Anne.
The birthday boy, Lynn.
The Texans together (Riley, Jarrod and Anne).
The family and I have spent the last few weeks celebrating birthdays. It's always fun to get together, visit, eat and open presents. This past weekend we celebrated three birthdays: My niece, Kierra, my mother-in-law, Anne, and Todd's uncle, Lynn.
As a special surprise for Anne, I made sure to bring her two Texans for her birthday present (my nephews Jarrod and Riley are out visiting from Texas). Anne loves all things Texas, as she was born and raised there.
This coming weekend is Father's Day, and I'll fill you in on my next post with pics and tales of our adventures.
