Uggh
Ok, I didn't get all my pictures taken this week, but I did get about 3/4 taken. My sister-in-law, Amy, is going to do the challenge. She is going to start on Nov. 1st., so I think that I will follow her lead and do that.
Also, I haven't got anything done for Halloween...yep...I fail..whatev.

Photography Challenge
I saw this challenge the other day and it peaked my interest. While it was supposed to be started at the beginning of this month, I'm going to do it in my own time frame. I think you should join me and share your pictures. Don't you think it would be fun to compare pics? I just love to see how creative people are.
So...are you up for it? You know you want to.
Pssst-If you can't read the above because it's really small, you can go to the site. Here you go:
whitepeachphoto.com/2011/05/25/photography_challenge/

day 1: self portrait
day 2: what you wore today
day 3: clouds
day 4: something green
day 5: from a high angle
day 6: from a low angle
day 7: fruit
I'll update the next 7 days next week when I share my pictures.

Hey Pumpkin
It's getting to be that time of year, you know, Halloween. I have to admit I have been lacking in the decorating and pumpkin carving arena the past couple of years. In fact, you might say that I have been a Grinch, but at Halloween time. Yes I have had a bad attitude, didn't want to carve the pumpkins, turned off the lights so nobody would come up, didn't buy candy (or maybe I ate all the candy that I did buy...I can't remember), and had my vicious dog out in the front yard (that last comment was a little joke..Sindy).
Todd just sent me an email with some incredible carved pumpkins and it may or may not have motivated me to get busy. Do you want to see?
I thought this one represented Todd.
This one reminded me of Austin studying calculus.
This one is for Alexxa. I think of her Anatomy class information eating her brain
I thought this one looked like me.
This one if for Dennis because he's a viking, just ask him.
This one is for Anne because, you know, Cowboy football.
This one is my mom trying to figure out a sewing project.
.
This one reminded me of what my dad might have seen after he fell out of his boat. I know it's an angler fish, and it's found in the ocean and he fell in a pond, but it's still funny.
This didn't remind me of anyone, I just thought it was pretty amazing.
After seeing all of these amazing pumpkins I got on the ball, put my thinking cap on and came up with this beauty...
Just kidding-I didn't carve this. This is way better than I could do.
Are you planning on carving pumpkins this year? If so, what are you going to carve? Jack-o-lantern, vampire, ghost - possibilities are endless.

Porn Star Princesses?
Well, not exactly porn, but heavy on the sexy side. Hey I got you to read my blog with the title though, right? Don't lie.
Have you seen the new take on the Disney princesses? O-M-G! they cannot be serious. My first thoughts were, REALLY, REALLY...What is this world coming to? I loved the little princesses in all the movies we watched while Austin and Alexxa were growing up, so sweet and innocent.
See, they are adorable.
Now they have Vogued them up and made them all sexy.
SOOOO.....what do you think? Sweet or sexy?

DIY Dragonfly Goodness
Since I don't have access to my pictures, I thought I would show you a cute project I found on Pinterest. Using old table legs, or some type of baulister, and a few different recycled odds and ends, you can create some super cute wall art to be used inside or out...whatever tickles your fancy.
Go ahead, have a looksy -
Used baulisters - can you see the potential?
What better item to use for wings than an old fan blade?
Need some eyes and antennae? How about some metal pieces, brass knobs and some old hooks.
A cool painting technique: thinned paint and a fingertip.
Bottom of a chair to give the dragonfly a little detail.
Some molding for a litte extra detail.
Tada...the finished project.
Cute, no?
Do you have any "treasures" sitting around your house that you can use to make cool projects? Do you have any DIY projects planned in the near future?

Carmalized
It's kinda like hynotized, but with carmel, and ya, I just totally made that up. I found a really, really, really yummy snack that, believe it or not, is not obnoxiously fattening.
Here's the recipe (if you can really call it a recipe, it really is only 3 ingredients):
Fuji apples
carmel dip (comes in a small tub)
Organic Pumpkin Flax Plus with granola (cereal)
Directions
Slice and seed apples
Dip apple slices in carmel
Dip apple covered with carmel in flax/granola
Eat
Soooooooooooo good!
I know this sounds/looks like the carmel apples on a stick, but they are just so much better. I don't like the carmel apples because they are always super messy and the carmel is hard, and I can't ever enjoy them so I just end up throwing them away. My little way of doing it makes it so much more manageable. And I'm not bragging or anything, but I am pretty much an expert when it comes to food...just sayin.

Getting My Bake On
Since it cooled down this past weekend, I got the urge to bake. I had been surfing Pinterest and found some delicious sounding/looking recipes. Motivated, I pulled out all my ingredients....most outdated...FAIL!
I decided on Samoa cupcakes (yes like the girl scout cookie samoas). Todd and I headed to Holiday Market, and $50 later, I had all my supplies.
I got to work, and it took me about 3 hours on Sunday to complete. They tasted pretty yummy, but I had problems with the cupcakes collapsing in the middle, something like a sinkhole. I remedied that with icing, but I'm not a huge fan of icing, so it was a little too much sweet for me. Todd and Alexxa liked them, but Austin and I didn't really care for them. They had coconut in them, so that probably explains why Aust and I could have lived without them.
This is what they were supposed to look like.
My sinkhole cupcake.
This is how mine turned out. BOO.
I think I am going to adjust the recipe a little and give it another shot. Afterall, $50 should produce something decent, right?
