East Coast Devastation or Oh no, Earthquake!

In recent weeks, the east coast has been hit pretty hard with natural disasters. While searching the net I found pictures that do an outstanding job documenting the destruction caused by the 5.9 earthquake. Warning: Some pictures may not be for the faint of heart.

Let's keep everyone on the east coast in our thoughts and prayers. I don't think they could handle too much more of this.

Ummmm , ya

I went and had my toes done the other day. The little gal who was doing my pedicure didn't speak an ounce of English, but man was she good. She scrubbed, and cut and massaged (for 30 minutes!). When it came time to paint my nails, the gal asked me if I wanted a flower. I told her no, that I was thinking about a palm tree since it was summer. She looked at her coworker next to her, the spoke to each other, in some language other than English, and then said, "Okay."

The woman got to work on my toes, and I kind of nodded off to sleep. When she was finished, I looked down at my toes to see this....

Ummm, ya...I'm not sure what it is, but I'm positive it ISN'T a palm tree. I would try and take a close up picture, but it doesn't make it look any better.

Any guess what it is because I have no clue.

Alexxa's A Weirdo

Just found a couple pictures I want to share.

Alexxa making friends with a tomato/potato bug? EEEKssss

Alexxa pretending to eat said bug. I wouldn't let that thing near my mouth!

Speaking of pictures...my blog will be a little light on the pictures because I am having my camera serviced. It will be about 4-6 weeks.

Also, when I took my camera in to have it serviced, I found out that they also teach digital photography, so Todd and I are signed up for 1-on-1 classes. This is our anniversary gift to ourselves. I'm superty duper excited, especially since I have my man taking the class with me. Yay!

We Go To Tahoe

Because Todd and I haven't had a vacation together this summer, he decided to spoil me with an evening in Tahoe. We headed out directly after work, checked in to our hotel and headed out to eat at our favorite spot up there, The Brewery, where we dined al fresco.

Todd enjoying his delicious food.

Todd got the ribeye...

I got the ribs (nom, nom, nom).

After dinner we decided to partay it up, so we went gambling at Harrah's. I laid down $10, of which I managed to keep $.25. Ya, you read that right, twenty-five cents. Todd decided to go to the poker machine, played $5 and won $35. We took the money and ran. I know, big spenders.

We were annoyed with the loud, obnoxious, drunk people, so we decided to check out the stores. It was a little late, so most of them were closed, so we decided to end the party and head back to our hotel.

Me creepin on Todd, trying to get his $35.

We partied til we dropped, which was right around 10 PM.

The next morning we slept in and then went to breakfast, again, al fresco - why because we had to in that AWESOME Tahoe weather.

After breakfast we took off down 89 and then took 88. It was a beautiful and relaxing drive. And, of course, like always, we had to stop and kayak. Silver Lake was our lake of choice and it was beautiful. We spent about 2 1/2 hours paddling around and then decided it was time to go home.

Caples Lake - sorry about the cruddy picture.

Todd and I taking pictures of ourselves on the side of the road - cause we are cool like that.

SPECTACULAR view!

Third random view of Silver Lake. This was super cool and super big.

It was a quick trip, but man was it fun. Todd and I laughed the entire time. I wonder when we will go again...hint, hint, hint Todd.
